Agent Doctor Hobbes is the head scientist of AEGIS and the true main antagonist of Season 2. He is responsible for rebuilding Overkill but was secretly committing criminal activity under the name The Duke.

When he first debuted, Agent Doctor Hobbes took on the attitude of a friendly and eccentric scientist, helping the newly joined heroes of AEGIS hone their skills and test their abilities. He was a skilled doctor and engineer as he was responsible for rebuilding Overkill after the fall of the Flag Five. However, this was actually a facade to hide his true colors.
Hobbes was secretly a conspirator and kingpin who went under the name The Duke, having committed a number of illegal acts while using AEGIS's resources for his own ulterior motives. He is immoral and ruthless, possessing a sense of self-righteous ideals and is not afraid of manipulating others to get what he wants such as embedding mind-control chips into people's brains just to make them do his bidding. He has no qualms killing those who get in his way as he had Overkill (who was under his control) kill Ty Rathbone and then took over AEGIS. One of Hobbe's most defining characteristic is his anti-category sentiment, seeing them as less than human and believing they should either be wiped out or be weaponized for humanity's benefit.
